Priorities

One of the things that makes Robbinsdale special is the strong sense of community that exists within our neighborhoods. I want to find new ways to foster neighborhood involvement and help residents build stronger connections with one another. That means supporting traditions like National Night Out, encouraging neighborhood events, and strengthening the connection between our neighborhoods, parks, and gathering places where friendships can grow.

Our Historic Downtown is an important part of Robbinsdale's identity and serves as a natural gathering place for residents and visitors alike. I want to be a conduit for our creative residents, local businesses, and community organizations to bolster our events, traditions, and experiences downtown while continuing to improve the walkability and pedestrian connections that make it easy to enjoy our parks, businesses, and other third spaces.

A strong community is built by residents who take pride in where they live. Whether it's volunteering, supporting local businesses, beautifying our neighborhoods, expanding public art, or simply helping keep our shared spaces clean, small actions add up to something much bigger. My hope is that Robbinsdale continues to be a city where neighbors know one another, people feel connected to their community, and visitors leave thinking, "There's something special about this place."

Effective local government begins with relationships. I want to be an active ambassador for Robbinsdale—someone who proudly represents our city while building meaningful partnerships between residents, local businesses, community organizations, neighboring cities, and the County. By working together, we can share ideas, strengthen regional collaboration, and create opportunities that benefit everyone.

I believe the best decisions come from staying connected to the community. Whether I'm walking through our neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, attending community events, or simply talking with residents, I want to remain engaged with the people and places that make Robbinsdale special. Those everyday conversations provide valuable perspective and help ensure decisions reflect the experiences of the people who call our city home.

As your councilmember, I will strive to be accessible, responsive, and engaged. My commitment is to earn your trust by listening thoughtfully, communicating openly, and remaining visible throughout the community and not just on council meeting nights. Strong leadership starts with strong relationships, and I believe those relationships are the foundation of good local government.

Robbinsdale's vibrant downtown and locally owned businesses are an important part of what makes our city unique. Small businesses create jobs, provide gathering places for neighbors, and help make Robbinsdale a destination within the Twin Cities. I want our city to be a place where new business owners feel supported, new ideas are welcomed, and existing businesses have the opportunity to continue growing and investing in our community.

As Robbinsdale evolves, we have an opportunity to thoughtfully embrace growth while preserving the character, sense of community, and natural environment that our community prioritizes. I believe responsible growth means encouraging investment that strengthens our neighborhoods, supports our local economy, and enhances the quality of life for both current and future residents.

Responsible growth also means being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. A healthy local economy helps broaden our tax base and creates new opportunities for investment while helping ease the burden on homeowners. At the same time, we must continue investing wisely in the streets, sidewalks, parks, and public infrastructure that keep Robbinsdale moving forward. As a homeowner, I know that every tax increase affects real people and real family budgets. As your councilmember, I will bring that perspective to every financial decision, working to protect essential city services while keeping tax increases as low as reasonably possible.
